Creating Inclusive Virtual Apprenticeship Programs & More Accessible Workplaces
How can employers expand their access to diverse talent while also developing more inclusive workplaces? Speakers from the Partnership on Inclusive Apprenticeship and the Partnership on Employment & Accessible Technology will discuss how creating apprenticeship programs and implementing accessible recruiting practices can do just that. Apprenticeships can help employers find, train, and retain employees from untapped talent pools, including individuals with disabilities. But, in order to be successful, these programs and the organizations that lead them, must be designed to be inclusive and accessible. When apprenticeship program leaders and employers prioritize inclusion and accessibility, they also advance their diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) goals and are able to attract other underserved workers across the board.

This webinar will include a plethora of resources on how to create inclusive apprenticeship programs and more accessible workplaces, as well as practical tips on how to make talent sourcing and development accessible to the largest possible audience.

Ashley Coffey (she/her) is the Accessible Emerging Technologies Lead at the Partnership on Employment & Accessible Technology (PEAT), an initiative of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). In this role, she works with community stakeholders to advance workplace inclusion and accessibility to increase employment opportunities for people with disabilities. She is passionate about furthering the adoption of inclusive design for accessible technology that benefits all.
Josh Christianson
Director @Partnership on Inclusive Apprenticeships
Josh Christianson is Project Director for the Partnership on Inclusive Apprenticeship (PIA), an initiative of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). Josh leads efforts to expand apprenticeship opportunities that are diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible to people from underserved communities through apprenticeship. Josh has extensive experience in supporting the diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) efforts of non-profit organizations, private companies, and government agencies.
